A bookkeeping practice in Humshaugh, for ledgers anywhere in the UK.
Gundastream exists to close the month. Not to sell a platform, not to become your accountant, and not to leave a feed running and call the result a set of books.
What the name is for
A stream is a useful picture of a bank account: movement, all month, that ought to arrive somewhere still enough to see. Gundastream is that still point for the file. Transactions come in by feed and by document. They are coded. They are matched. What will not match is named. Then the month stops moving.
The studio is at 22 Beechcroft, Humshaugh, Hexham, NE46 4DN. Humshaugh sits north of Hexham, in Northumberland. Clients do not need to be nearby. The address is for correspondence and for appointments. It is not a shop, and there is no counter for walk-in papers. Send documents to the ledger or by email, not by turning up unannounced.
We do not publish a headcount, a client count, or a trophy list. Those numbers on a bookkeeping website are usually decoration. What you can rely on is the method: a named reviewer, a written rule for each recurring supplier, and a pack that says when something is not reconciled.
How the work is staffed
Software proposes the repetitive match. A reviewer is responsible for the file and signs the month. You will know who that is. If they are away, the cover is named in the email, not implied.
We do not outsource the review to an unnamed team in another firm. Tools we use for email and for the ledger are processors, and they are described in the privacy policy. The judgement about an unmatched line stays here.
We are not chartered accountants, certified accountants, or a tax boutique wearing a bookkeeping label. If a question is really about tax, we will say “that is for your adviser” even when it would be easier to guess.
The rules we actually keep
Do not hide the difference
An unexplained amount stays on the exception list with the date it was first raised. It is not posted to sundry, and it is not netted against something convenient.
Leave the file readable
Your accountant should be able to open the period and see why a figure moved. Journals carry a description. Our user access ends when the engagement ends. The data does not.
